Critical Illness Recovery Hospital


Clinical Liaison - Registered Nurse (RN) or Respiratory Therapist (RRT)


Salary Range: $70,000-$83,000 plus monthly bonus incentives.


Sign-On Bonus up to $10,000


Are you a Nurse or Respiratory Therapist looking for career opportunities on the business side of healthcare? If so, the Clinical Liaison position is an excellent bridge between direct patient care and business development. If you are an excellent communicator with strong clinical knowledge and a high-level of integrity and accountability, we will train you on the skills needed to be successful this role.

Clinical Liaisons serve as an advocate for patients during their transition from the hospital to the next, most appropriate level of care. As a liaison, you will discuss our critical illness recovery services with hospital discharge planners, physicians, patients and families. You will be assigned to referring hospitals in your local community and will partner with them to help identify and assess patients to see if they are appropriate for our specialized hospital services. You will review insurance requirements and patient medical needs and make recommendations regarding service eligibility, and you will assist case managers in developing a plan for transferring eligible patients to our beautiful, 30 bed, Des Moines facility.

This is a salaried position that works Monday-Friday with periodic on-call responsibility. As a Liaison you are also eligible for monthly bonuses.

Responsibilities:
  • Armed with a strong clinical background, payer knowledge and problem-solving skills, Liaisons work with physicians, discharge planners and patient's families to plan the best continuum of care.
  • Perform clinical assessments of referred patients, then consults with case managers and patient families to assist them in making the best care decisions for the patient.
  • Partners with hospital case managers to create smooth patient transfer process.
  • Help remove insurance-related and operational barriers to getting appropriate patients approved for care
  • Seek to understand the medical needs of the patient
  • Provide prompt and reliable service to case managers requesting a patient assessment
Qualifications:
We are seeking results-driven team players. Qualified candidates must be passionate about providing superior quality in all that they do.

Minimum requirements:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Respiratory Therapist (RT) License.
  • Other Clinical designations will be considered if candidates have previous experience as a clinical liaison or strong acute care experience
Preferred qualifications:
  • Be an investigator and problem solver – use your critical thinking skills to overcome obstacles that prevent patients from being admitted into the optimal level of care.
  • Be flexible, self-driven, accountable for results, autonomous and supportive of team efforts.
  • Excellent communication skills – be clear and concise and adept at keeping team members informed about patients’ eligibility and admissions status.
  • Prior sales or business development experience is preferred.
